Sales Engineer

Datum Electronics is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our dynamic and expanding sales team. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying and nurturing business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving revenue growth by promoting Datum Electronics’ state-of-the-art products and solutions.

This is a full-time position, 37.5hrs per week, located at our company HQ in East Cowes Isle of Wight

Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential clients in maritime, renewable energy, and industrial sectors.
  • Understand customer needs and tailor product solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Conduct technical product demonstrations and presentations to educate customers on the benefits of Datum Electronics’ products.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure customers’ technical requirements are met.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals and quotations.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers to secure new business.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.

Our Ideal Candidate has:

  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the instrumentation or industrial equipment sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
