We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded our first CCS Type Approval Certification (China Classification Society) for our Marine Shaft Power Meter Systems. This is another milestone here at Datum and Type Approval means our Marine Shaft Power Meter Systems can now be used on vessels with CCS class notation which also provides further confidence in the efficiency of our products and solutions for our customers.
Additionally, the type approval certificate demonstrates that our shaft power meter meets all of the requirements and standards of the CCS at every stage of production and is a bold statement of quality marine equipment. This is the first part of our plan to achieve type approval with other Classification Societies in the marine sector.
What is a CCS certificate?
Through the provision of world-leading technical standards and rules, CCS provides classification services for ships, offshore installations, and related industrial products. Furthermore, CCS offers statutory surveys, impartial and integral classification, verification, certification and accreditation, as well as other services in accordance with international conventions, regulations and the appropriate rules and regulations of the flag state or region.
What is Type Approval?
Type approval is a system by which manufacturers demonstrate that an example of their product meets all required safety and regulatory standards. Certification is then applied to all future examples of that product with the same specification.
