We are proud to announce that we have scored double success at the Maritime UK Solent Awards. The inaugural event is the first regional maritime awards celebrating the success of the Solent’s outstanding regional maritime cluster.

Our team celebrated as we were announced as the winner of the innovation award as well as employer of the year at the glitzy ceremony held at the Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour in Southampton. Our Managing Director, James Lees, stated,

“We are delighted to have won two marine focussed awards that recognise our collaboration and dedication to supporting the maritime sector in CII, Carbon Reduction and Improved Vessel efficiency. Being recognised as a Top performing Company by the Solent LEP through the Maritime UK Solent Awards, is truly an honour and an accomplishment to be proud of. I’m thrilled that the hard work of our team and partners has been recognised by industry experts as truly cutting edge and sector leading, in the areas of both innovation, plus as an outstanding employer in the region.“

The evening was attended by the elite of the marine industry in the south as well as dignitaries such as the Lord Mayor of Southampton, Jacqui Rayment, who said,

“It was lovely to be at the Maritime UK Solent Awards 22, I was delighted to see Datum winning 2 awards, an excellent result for them as they represent one of the best companies in the industry. In a tight field on the night, they were worthy winners, we are lucky to have such a thriving Maritimes industry strategically located along the south coast, and I wish them all the best going forward.”

The awards success for Datum follows a flurry of recent award nominations as well as a recent award for innovation at the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce business excellence awards.

Datum Electronics Sales Manager, Mike Palin commented on the recent success saying,

“It’s great to be able to offer cutting-edge solutions such as our new EEXI SHaPoLi system to the maritime market. These solutions are not only directly supporting the regulatory needs of the industry, but are having a real, tangible impact on the decarbonisation initiatives in this sector and providing our customers the necessary technology infrastructure for the continued and future reliance on vessel monitoring solutions.”
