Territorial carbon dioxide emissions from the business sector account for 18.2% of all carbon dioxide emissions which is a 46.8% increase in the business sector since 1990. This is a great problem that escalates risks around climate change while making rapid damage to our planet.

Around 7% of greenhouse gas emissions were reduced during COVID-19 shut down. It was the first time that humanity was able to reduce emissions consistently year over year.

One way we are fighting climate change is by signing up to Ecologi and carrying on reducing carbon footprints by planting trees. We always aim to do the right thing for our customers, our employees, and most importantly, our planet. Datum have supported multiple amazing projects such as “preserving the Amazonian rainforest in Brazil” and “producing renewable wind energy in Bulgaria” while reducing over 7 tonnes of carbon dioxide while planting over a hundred trees in our forest on Ecologi!

No other carbon-capture technology can produce oxygen AND remove CO2 from the atmosphere like trees can! We are committed to planting a tree for every standard sensor that we sell, to help offset our carbon emissions as a business and supporting projects that promote a more sustainable future.

What is Ecologi?

Ecologi help businesses and everyday people lower their impact on the planet with an affordable monthly subscription that supports certain projects that benefit the environment. Reducing our carbon footprint is completely necessary, but the pace of change is much slower than the remaining time. Right now, plenty of climate solutions are out there, so that if supported, they can undo 30 years of carbon damage by avoiding 1,500 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide.

We strongly believe that sustainable effort and quality production should come hand in hand. Corporate Social Responsibility is a core feature of our being. Therefore, our work at Datum is to keep that standard up as a corporation by making sustainable choices and making CO2 reduction in addition to being climate positive.
