Autumn is in a full swing, which means we are preparing for two big trade shows, happening in two parts of the world.
The first one is the Automotive Testing Expo North America in Novi, Michigan, USA. Held from the 22nd to 24th of October, the show is focused on the latest automotive testing and validation technologies, including torque measurement tools, test rigs, durability testing technologies, and dynamometers, to name just a few.

For the past 30 years, Datum Electronics have been designing, manufacturing and supplying standard torque sensors, OEM and bespoke torque transducers, shaft torque sensing solutions, as well as bolt-on strain, weight & load measurement sensors in medium to high volume. Our products are designed to help automotive engineers increase performance, improve engine efficiency and reduce emissions, ensuring that the vehicles and their components are safe, reliable and of high quality.
Together with our distributors in the USA – Comtel Corporation, we will be showcasing our cutting-edge torque transducers, bolt-on strain & load sensors and shaft power measurement devices, successfully used for automotive testing applications around the globe. If you visit us at stand 8028, we’ll be able to find the best and most cost-effective torque sensor solution for your needs too.
At the beginning of November, our team is also heading to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the home of the leading maritime exhibition Europort. Aimed at helping ship owners and operators optimise the performance of their fleets, the show covers multiple industries, including shipping, marine, dredging, fishing and offshore.

Along with other exhibitors, Datum Electronics will be showcasing innovative shaft power meter technology, capable of measuring torque, power, rpm, and thrust – the data that is essential for SEEMP and EU MRV regulations.
Datum shaft power meter is fully modular, can be installed in 1-2 days and has extremely competitive pricing, and does not need re-calibration. It is designed to help ship owners calculate and improve the vessel’s $ per kW of power in a range of operating conditions, ensuring optimum performance throughout the lifetime of a vessel.
Apart from our shaft power meters, we will be revealing more information about our new condition monitoring technology, on which we are working together with Strathclyde University. This cutting -edge system capable of analysing the dynamic torque from engine output shafts, identifying and quantifying individual cylinder actions, as well as changes in the engine dynamics, related to potential failure modes.
If you want to find out more about our shaft power measurement or condition monitoring solutions more, you can contact our team or meet us at Europort in Rotterdam at stand 3001.
