We are currently seeking a Sales Executive and Engineering Team Leader to join our team here in the UK (Isle of Wight). We’re looking for someone who is keen to be part of that growth; an individual with the enthusiasm to develop relationships with our customers, partners and colleagues, who are at the heart of everything that we do.
The successful candidate will be based at our Headquarters on the Isle of Wight. The main function involves establishing sales through new customers while supporting and negotiating, increase business through our extensive network of re-sellers and distributors in more than 30 countries, including; Germany, Greece, China, Denmark, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Canada and the USA. We are looking for an individual with a natural sales flair whom has the ability to understand new technology and technical concepts. Product training will be given, however good knowledge of industry specific products is required. This would include, but not be limited to, Loadcells, Strain gauges, Torque Transducers, Electronic measurement devices, Sensors and sensing, IoT solutions, force measurement systems and other electronic measurement sector products.
Meet/Exceed monthly sales targets
Directly report to the Business Development Manager and working as part of a high paced team
Motivate distribution channels to increase sales levels in respective countries
Sell hardware and software solutions to varying market sectors
Win purchase orders in line with company strategy from both existing and new customers
Liaise with technical / engineering team to offer custom solutions to customer requirements
New Business Development – Identify leads, cold call prospects and develop pipeline
Preparing quotations and negotiating orders, following up to update status and gain market knowledge
Learn about business processes and product range, including technical calculations
Technically support customers before, during and post sale
Attend exhibitions, seminars, trade shows and conferences to promote the company and its offered products and services
Attend Marketing meetings
Use and maintain company CRM/MRP system to assist in achieving targets
Feedback to engineering on custom requests to strengthen product portfolio
2+ years Technical product sales experience
A desire to succeed matched by a positive outlook
Willingness to learn and work hard
Must be enthusiastic, ambitious, dynamic, self -motivated and have an appetite to succeed
Excellent communication and presentation skills and common sense are a must
Ability to effectively negotiate with clients.
Have the ability to work as part of a high paced, dynamic sales team.
To lead the engineering team. To serve as the internal and external technical contact of the company. To manage delivery of projects and solutions to the highest quality standards, in a right first time approach in line with commercial requirements of the company.
To lead engineering design tasks and the engineering team
To manage/prioritise engineering workloads
To manage weekly engineering meetings and ensure progress on deliverables
To ensure project delivery to the commercial advantage of the company
To ensure proficiency of team members in delivering goals and working in line with company set targets and quality standards
Planning product roadmaps / Gannt Charts
Implement gold standard pcb’s with gold standard firmware
Research new technologies for use in Datum products
Communicate well both verbally and written with engineering team and with other functions such as Operations, Procurement, QA and Programme Management, and with Customer and multiple suppliers.
Organise company software & firmware in secure repository (local & cloud)
